Author's Czech-German project implemented at Moldava railway station in 2021. Through performances, installations, music, light and author's text, she brought the memory of the 150 years old railway station building and the surrounding area closer. Spectators could enter the otherwise inaccessible areas of the building, where they symbolically met the carpenters, the Vietnamese community, ancient customs officials, the decadent present, Adolf Branald and a cross-section of the history of the entire station. The goal of the project was to recall the importance and historical value of the place, to revive relations with Czech and German neighbors, to blur borders and to support the restoration of the line to Germany.
The project was created with the support of:

Uncovering and healing historical traumas through artistic imagination is a proven and effective method. Veronika Vaculíková and her colleagues found in the landscape, on the border between the Czech Republic and Germany, a symbolic location of a railway station, which in the past functioned as a transit area, a connecting transport hub, a place of trade or production. Moldava is a place of deep memory, from which stories can be retrieved through artistic means, reminding of broken continuity and, in the best case, contributing to its establishment. This is the function of art - through stories, emotions, sensitivity and imagination to contribute to the healing of pain and the reminder or restoration of values.

Good morning, I have to write you my feelings after yesterday. I honestly did not expect that almost the entire building would be accessible, that we would learn something about history in original way and still see art that is not primarily subversive. It had a wonderful atmosphere and I am glad that someone is trying to revive the Krušné Mountains in a sensitive way. I'm fan of you and if there's another similar event nearby, I'd love to see it.

TO THE NORTH WHERE THE TRACKS END The station in Moldava in the Ore Mountains was the last on the Czech side before the train entered Saxony. After the war, the connection was broken. Now it seems that the effort to repair the station and restore the Czech-German connection is coming to a good end. However, before the train crosses the border bridge again in the future, the performer, actress and dancer VERONIKA VACULÍKOVÁ visited the station for the site-specific project MOLDAVA - ENDLESS STATION. Together with the artistic team, she brought the building to life with dance, music, singing, an artistic event and an exhibition about the history of the railway station since it was put into operation for the transport of coal in 1884. From Friday, June 25, for three evenings, the audience could connect to historical and personal associations, for example through dance Markéty Vacovská in a room beaten to bricks. Artists have come and gone, but the hopeful restoration of the track is worth further attention. And the wild surrounding landscape aspires to become a destination for summer trips.
